On 30th September, Xiangcheng Tianying EcoEnergy held a ceremony for the first truckload of waste entering Xiangcheng WtE Power Plant.

At 8 o'clock in the morning, Xiangcheng City, the first waste collection truck slowly entered the power plant after passing the weighbridge and arrived at the tipping floor. Afterwards, Zhang Hongzhen, the director of Xiangcheng Urban Management Bureau made a speech at the short ceremony before the first truckload of waste weighing 12 tons was dumped into the waste bunker with a depth of 28 meters.

The power plant has a capacity to treat 800 tons of waste per day, with an annual generation of 115.3 million KWhs. The total investment is RMB460 million. Covering an area of 83.6 mu, the plant began construction in March 2021, overcoming the difficulties of the Covid to become a people's livelihood project in the locality. Once put into operation, the power plant will fundamentally change the way the city treats its waste, realising the resourceful use of household waste while helping Xiangcheng’s path towards a green and sustainable future.
